His sets pull from electro, techno and ghettotech, which in practice means fast, bass-heavy, and built for people who want to sweat rather than stand around filming. Ghettotech came out of Detroit, borrowed the tempo of booty bass and the drum programming of electro, and never quite fit the tidy categories that festival lineups like. Partiboi69 leans into that. Expect tempos north of 140 BPM, vocal samples that are rude on purpose, and very little patience for a slow build.

Avalon sits at 1735 Vine Street, half a block off Hollywood Boulevard in a building that has been a theater, a rock venue and a nightclub since the 1920s. The main room has a balcony that wraps the dance floor, so you can watch from above when the floor gets tight. The sound system is one of the better ones in the city for this kind of music, which matters more with electro than with almost anything else. Thin kicks give the whole genre away.

Getting there is easier than most Hollywood nights. The Metro B Line stops at Hollywood and Vine, directly outside the door, and it runs late on Fridays. If you drive, the lots along Vine and Argyle charge around $20 to $30 after 8 PM and the street parking is picked over by nine. Bring ID. Avalon is 21 and over.
