Rodriguez Jr. Hybrid Live at Community Berlin

French producer and live performer Rodriguez Jr. is headlining a SOUNDWAVE night at Community Berlin on Friday, September 25. The flyer bills his set as hybrid live, so this isn't a straight DJ set. Doors open at 10pm and Eventbrite lists the event as seven hours long, running until 5am.

Dreamteller, Freddy Deep and Simon Thirlaway are also on the flyer. That's three support acts to carry the room before and after the headliner, which makes sense for a night this long. Set times aren't posted on the listing, so if you're coming mainly for the headliner, keep an eye on SOUNDWAVE's Eventbrite page as the date gets closer.

The sound

SOUNDWAVE's listing describes Rodriguez Jr.'s work as a blend of melodic house, deep electronic textures and emotionally charged soundscapes. The promoter calls the night a journey through melodic house, hypnotic rhythms and immersive electronic sound. If you like the slower-building, melody-first end of house music, this is the one on this weekend's LA EDM events calendar to catch. It's less about peak-time bangers and more about a set that develops over its runtime.

Tickets and entry

Eventbrite lists tickets from $31.72 to $47.73. The event is 21+ according to the flyer, and the listing says there are no refunds, so be sure of your plans before you buy. Online sales close at 10pm on the night, the same time doors open.

The venue

Community Berlin is at 11819 Sherman Way, in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles. That's a different trip from a Hollywood or downtown club night, so check your route before you head out. With a 5am finish, it's worth planning your ride home ahead of time too.
