Sparrow (CH) and Kasango at Sound Nightclub

Friday, September 25 at Sound Nightclub is a three-name bill: Sparrow (CH), Kasango and Lennox Takura. The listings file it under progressive house and afro house, which is a narrower lane than most Hollywood Fridays. If you want LA EDM events built around long, rolling grooves instead of drops, this one belongs on your weekend list.

The bill

Sparrow carries the "(CH)" tag on both the flyer and the DICE page, so search for that exact spelling if you want to preview the music. Kasango is the other headliner. Lennox Takura rounds out the lineup, listed third on the flyer.

Afro house and progressive house share a lot of DNA: percussion-forward, patient, built to hold a floor for hours rather than spike it. A 10 PM to 2:30 AM window gives the three of them room to pass the night along without anyone rushing. DICE doesn't post set times, so if one name is the reason you're buying, get there early.

Tickets and entry

Tickets are $24.93 on DICE, which is about nine dollars less than Sound's Thursday booking the night before. The listing marks the event 21+. Buy in the app ahead of time; that's where your ticket lives, and it's the one place you can check whether the night has sold through.

Practical notes

The club sits at 1642 N Las Palmas Ave, a short block north of Hollywood Boulevard. Hollywood/Highland on the Metro B Line is a few minutes' walk west. Friday traffic on Hollywood Boulevard is slow late at night, so a drop-off on Las Palmas itself tends to beat circling for parking.
