Virtual Riot & Blanke: Far From Home at the Palladium

Virtual Riot and Blanke bring their joint Far From Home Tour to the Hollywood Palladium on Friday, December 11, with Bassrush presenting. Insomniac lists the night from 9pm to 2am, and it's 18 and over. The poster looks like a video game cover: two figures leaping across a neon sci-fi city, with the tour name in glowing letters.

The pairing

Virtual Riot is the German producer known for extremely technical dubstep and colorful, melodic drops. He's a favorite of bass fans who care about sound design. Blanke is an Australian producer who moves between heavy dubstep and emotional, cinematic future bass. Insomniac tags the show dubstep and future bass, and it bills the two as co-headliners rather than a headliner and an opener. Expect a mix of heavy drops and big melodic moments, with both artists' visuals on screen.

Tickets

Tickets are through Ticketmaster, which Insomniac links from its event page. We couldn't confirm a face value on September 24, so check Ticketmaster for current prices and fees before you buy. Resale sites were showing prices from around $61. That usually means demand is steady rather than sold out, but buy on the primary site when you can.

Times

The poster says 8pm, while the Insomniac event page lists the show as 9pm to 2am. Doors probably open before the headliners, so arriving around 8pm is the safe bet. The poster also lists the tour site, farfromhometour.com.

The venue

The Hollywood Palladium is at 6215 Sunset Boulevard, a few blocks from the Metro B Line at Hollywood/Vine. With a 2am finish, plan on a ride home. The main floor is general admission standing room.

Bass fans have more on the calendar: ATLiens are at Exposition Park in October, Ray Volpe plays The Torch in November, and Virtual Riot also plays Zombie Apocalypse 2027 in Long Beach next June. For more EDM, see the EDM category page and the Hollywood listings.
