Wax Motif at Exchange LA Afters

Friday, September 25, is a double for Wax Motif in downtown. The outdoor Grand Park show ends at 11pm, and an hour before that, the doors open at Exchange LA for his club set. Exchange's own flyer labels the night "Exchange LA Afters," so this is the late half of the evening: 10pm to 3am on Spring Street.

The 19hz listing tags the night as g-house, bass house and nu-disco. That covers a lot of ground, from bass-weighted house to disco-leaning grooves, and a five-hour window gives the night room to move between them. The dragon artwork matches the Grand Park flyer, but this one is navy with cream type and the Exchange LA Afters stamp.

Exchange is at 618 S. Spring Street in downtown. The venue's event page lists doors at 10pm PDT and a strict 21+ age limit. It also warns that tickets from StubHub, Vivid Seats, Eventbrite or other resellers won't be honored. Exchange says valid tickets come through TicketWeb and, for some shows, Tixr. This one is sold on Tixr, and your government ID has to match the name on the ticket. All sales are final.

Tickets are listed from $20 to $80 depending on tier. Exchange also takes VIP table reservations through the same event page if you're rolling in with a group.

A few practical notes. With a 3am close, plan your ride home before you head in rather than at the door. If you're coming straight from Grand Park, both venues are downtown, so it's a short trip.
