Wax Motif at Grand Park Block 2

Insomniac is putting Wax Motif outdoors on Friday, September 25, at Grand Park Block 2 in downtown Los Angeles. The gates open at 5pm and the show wraps at 11pm, which makes this an early-evening park party rather than a late club night. It's one of the few LA EDM events this month where you'll catch the start of the set in daylight.

Grand Park Block 2 is at 200 N Grand Ave, and the flyer credits the site as Gloria Molina Grand Park. The artwork frames it plainly: Wax Motif, Los Angeles, Friday 25 Sept, Grand Park, 5pm to 11pm, 21+. Nobody else is billed on the Insomniac or Front Gate listings, so if a support act turns up, treat it as a bonus.

Tickets run through Front Gate, Insomniac's ticketing partner. As of September 24, the first general admission tier ($40 plus fees) had sold out, and second-tier GA was listed at $50 plus fees. VIP is $85 plus fees and covers expedited entry, VIP bathrooms, VIP bars with cocktails and a VIP viewing area. The $150 Stage Access tier, which put you in an on-stage viewing area, was already sold out. Front Gate says the price shown at checkout includes taxes and fees. Bring ID: the listing is 21 and over only.

Getting there is simple by train. Grand Park's own visitor page points people to the Metro Red or Purple Line at Civic Center/Grand Park Station, which lets out right at the park, or the Gold Line to Union Station or Little Tokyo/Arts District. An 11pm finish gives you a fair shot at a train home, though it's worth checking the last departure for your line before you go.

If six hours outside isn't enough, Wax Motif also has a late show the same night at Exchange LA on Spring Street, starting at 10pm. We wrote that one up separately: Wax Motif at Exchange LA. It's a different room and a separate ticket.
