Drum and bass doesn't usually get an arena in this town. It gets warehouses, the Shrine Expo Hall, a late slot on a festival side stage. So when four British producers book the Kia Forum under one banner, it's worth circling the date. Worship, the collective made up of Sub Focus, Dimension, Culture Shock and 1991, brings its North America tour to Inglewood on Friday, October 23, and it's easily one of the bigger LA EDM events on the fall calendar.
The listed hours are 7 p.m. to midnight. Insomniac is presenting, and the show is 18+.
Who's Playing
Worship is a group project, not a package tour. The four don't play four separate sets and call it a bill. They share the stage, trade tracks and push each other through the night, so a Sub Focus anthem can land straight into a Dimension roller and then get flipped by Culture Shock before you've caught your breath.
Sub Focus is the name most people know. He's been making drum and bass with pop reach for close to twenty years, and his records get played well outside the scene. Dimension leans darker and heavier, with the kind of bass weight that makes sense in a room this size. Culture Shock and 1991 both write big, melodic tracks built for a crowd that sings along. Put the four together and you get a set that swings between euphoric and grimy without warning.
The Room
The Forum is a round, 1960s arena on Manchester Boulevard with no bad angle to the stage. It's better known for rock tours and comedy specials than raves in Los Angeles, which is part of the appeal here. The sound in that bowl carries low end well, and a D&B crowd will fill the floor fast.
Practical Info
- When: Friday, October 23, 7 p.m. to midnight
- Where: Kia Forum, 3900 W Manchester Blvd., Inglewood
- Age: 18+, bring a valid ID
- Tickets: through Ticketmaster; the listing we checked didn't publish a price, so check the ticket page for current tiers
Parking is on site at the Forum and fills up on big nights. Rideshare drop-off works, but expect a slow exit at midnight when everyone leaves at once. If you're coming from the Westside or South Bay, Manchester Boulevard is your friend; the 405 and 105 both jam around SoFi Stadium event traffic, so check whether anything is happening next door that night.
If you're building a list of things to do in Los Angeles this October, this is the one for the drum and bass heads. More nights like it live in our EDM section and across Los Angeles.
