Bassrush is bringing Zeds Dead outdoors to Grand Park for two nights of its Journey of a Lifetime tour, and Friday, October 2 is the first of them. The Insomniac listing runs it from 5pm to 11pm, ages 18 and up, which makes it one of the bigger LA EDM events of early October and one of the few that starts while it's still light out.

The Friday undercard is built for bass heads. Zeds Dead headlines, with Caspa going back to back with Distinct Motive, plus Zero and MARAH. Insomniac files the night under dubstep and bass. Caspa is one of the names that helped build UK dubstep, so the b2b with Distinct Motive is the set to get there early for. Saturday has a different lineup, so the two nights aren't repeats.

Tickets are through Front Gate, Insomniac's ticketing partner. On September 24 the Friday page listed General Admission (Tier 4) at $85 plus $11.92 in fees, or $96.92 all in. The first VIP tier had sold out, and VIP (Tier 2) was $145 plus $13.46, or $158.46. VIP is 21 and over and includes expedited entry, private bathrooms, VIP food options, a viewing area and re-entry to the VIP section. The two-day GA pass was already sold out, and the Friday page carries a note that Saturday has sold out and limited tickets remain. Front Gate says the price shown includes all ticket taxes and fees, and Zeds Dead has partnered with PLUS1 so $1 from every ticket goes to music education programs.

The park is at 200 North Grand Avenue. Grand Park's visitor page points people to the Metro Red or Purple Line at Civic Center/Grand Park Station, which lets out at the park, or the Gold Line to Union Station or Little Tokyo/Arts District. An 11pm finish gives you a fair shot at a train home.
