Bluey's Big Play is the first live theater show made for the Heeler family, and it lands in Hollywood for one October weekend. If your kids already know every line of the Emmy-winning series, this is one of the easiest things to do with kids LA has lined up this fall.

When: Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25, 2026. The first performance starts at 6:00 PM on the 23rd, and the run ends the afternoon of the 25th. Where: Pantages Theatre, Hollywood Ages: Recommended for ages 2 and up. Every guest, including little ones, needs a ticket. Tickets: Pricing and showtimes are on the Broadway in Hollywood page.

What the show is about

The story starts when Dad decides he would like a little time out on the bean bag. Bluey and Bingo have other plans, and they pull out every game and bit of cleverness they have to get him moving again. The plot is the same kind of small, funny family chaos the TV series is loved for.

The production is a theatrical adaptation of the series, with an original story from Bluey creator Joe Brumm and new music from series composer Joff Bush. The characters are brought to life with carefully built puppets, so kids see Bluey and Bingo in real life rather than on a screen. It is presented by BBC Studios and Andrew Kay in association with Windmill Theatre Co.

Planning your visit

The Pantages is a historic Hollywood theater on Hollywood Boulevard, so give yourself time for parking and for getting small children seated before curtain. Bring a snack plan for after the show, since the neighborhood has plenty of casual spots nearby.

Broadway in Hollywood also offers a VIP Meet and Greet add-on at checkout. It includes a post-show photo opportunity with Bluey and an exclusive souvenir gift for children only. Those packages are separate from a standard seat, so decide before you buy.

With only three days on the calendar, performances will likely fill quickly. Among the family events Los Angeles hosts this season, a recognizable character show like this tends to sell out early, so checking the official page soon is the safest move.

Why it works for families

A show built for the youngest audience members respects short attention spans and big feelings. Expect music, movement and plenty of recognizable moments for kids, with enough humor in the writing to keep parents engaged. For anyone building a list of kids activities LA offers before the holidays, this one is an easy pick for a first theater trip.
