Halloween afternoon at the Redondo Beach Pier comes with ocean views and a free candy route. Harbor Haunts: Trick or Treat by the Sea turns the International Boardwalk into a costume parade on Saturday, October 31, 2026. If you keep a running list of things to do with kids LA families can enjoy without a ticket, this one belongs on it.
When: Saturday, October 31, 2026, 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM Where: International Boardwalk at the Redondo Beach Pier, Redondo Beach, CA 90277 Cost: Free Check-in: North End of the Boardwalk, above the Paddle House
What to expect
Kids in costume stroll from shop to shop along the boardwalk collecting treats, which keeps the whole thing safe, walkable and daylight-friendly. Between stops there is a music and dance party, a Halloween photo booth for capturing costumes before the sugar rush kicks in, and Halloween-themed crafts for little hands. The organizers say more surprises are still in the works.
There is also Halloween Bingo. You pick up a Bingo card at check-in, fill it out as you explore, and enter for a chance at prizes. It gives kids a reason to look at every storefront instead of racing to the next bucket.
Planning your visit
Start at the North End of the Boardwalk, above the Paddle House, to check in and grab your card. The event runs rain or shine, so plan your costume layers around the coastal weather. The organizers suggest parking in the King Harbor Parking Lot, and a Saturday pier crowd means arriving early is smart.
The pier is a short walk from the sand, so a post-candy detour to the water is easy if the kids still have energy. Plenty of kids activities LA parents search for are crowded or ticketed; this one is neither, and every treat bag filled helps the local businesses that keep the pier going.
Who is behind it
Harbor Haunts is presented by South Bay Credit Union and the King Harbor Association, and powered by Quality Seafood and the City of Redondo Beach. Local Anchor, the South Bay community platform that listed the event, invites RSVPs through its event page. Costumes are encouraged, and the whole family is welcome.
