Woo York are coming to Los Angeles. The Ukrainian techno duo, known from Afterlife and Drumcode releases, bring their live show to Community Berlin on October 10. It's one of those Things Happening In Los Angeles that techno fans have been quietly waiting for since the duo's last West Coast run.
The Artists
Woo York (Artur Shevtsov and Maxim Shalygin) have spent the past decade building a reputation as one of the stronger live acts in the techno and deep house world. Their studio work for Afterlife, Tale of Us's imprint, sits in a patient, atmospheric corner of electronic music. The Drumcode and HABITAT connections push harder, and the live show pulls from both ends of that spectrum.
A Woo York live set isn't a DJ set with a laptop overlay. They perform the music, sequencing and shaping it in real time, which makes each show noticeably different from the last.
The Venue
Community Berlin is at 11819 Sherman Way in the Van Nuys / North Hills corridor of the San Fernando Valley. The name nods to the Berlin club scene's aesthetic, and the room is set up accordingly: focused sound, minimal distractions, the kind of space that gets out of the way and lets the music do its job. It's a bit of a trek from the Eastside, but sound systems like this are part of what makes family events los angeles style so varied across the metro.
What to Expect
Doors open around 10PM. The show runs to 3AM. It's 21+, so this one skips the all-ages bracket entirely. Tickets range from free entry tiers up to $60.24, with pricing likely reflecting early general admission versus reserved or VIP options. Grab a ticket in advance if you're planning to go.
The organizer, SET UNDERGROUND, runs events in the underground techno circuit and tends to keep lineups tight. A single headliner live act at this scale is a good sign: the night is built around one performance, not a sprawling bill that stretches energy thin.
Getting There
Community Berlin is in the northwest Valley, near the 405 and 101 interchange. Street parking is available in the surrounding industrial neighborhood. If you're coming from DTLA, allow 30 to 45 minutes depending on time. Rideshare drops off cleanly at the venue address. If you're searching for things to do near me in the Valley corridor on a Saturday night, this is worth the drive.
The show runs past midnight, so plan accordingly if you're taking the Metro Orange/G Line; the last runs are around 12:30AM from most Valley stations.
Tickets and Info
Tickets are available on Eventbrite. Pricing starts from $0 (RSVP/free tier) up to $60.24. The venue was listed as "announced soon" at time of listing but is confirmed at Community Berlin, 11819 Sherman Way, Los Angeles.
