On Friday, October 30, Andres Pico Adobe Park in Mission Hills turns into an open-air movie theater for Valleyween Cinema. The feature is Hotel Transylvania, the animated comedy about a hotel for monsters, and the evening wraps trick-or-treating, a costumed meet and greet and a dance party around the screening. If you are collecting things to do with kids LA has to offer before Halloween, this one packs the candy, the movie and the snacks into a single stop.

When: Friday, October 30, 2026. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the film begins at 7:30 p.m. Where: Andres Pico Adobe Park, 10940 Sepulveda Blvd, Mission Hills Price: $20 general admission, plus processing fees at checkout Tickets: My Valley Pass, linked from the Discover Los Angeles listing

What your ticket includes

The listing spells out what a general admission ticket covers, so there is little to buy once you are inside:

  • Trick-or-treating at spooky stations, with candy included
  • A meet and greet with Dracula or Frankenstein
  • A dance party with the GEC Street Team
  • Unlimited popcorn and drinks (water or soda)
  • VIP restrooms

The poster credits the Valley Kids Club and My Valley Pass, so expect a community-run evening aimed squarely at younger children. Hotel Transylvania is a light, jokey take on monsters, which makes it a comfortable pick for kids who like Halloween but are not ready for anything scary.

Seating and what to bring

Seating is first come, first served, and chairs are not included. That means you should bring your own folding chairs, blankets or low-back camp seats, and plan to arrive near the 5:30 p.m. gate time if you want a good sightline. Arriving early also gives kids time to work through the candy stations and the dance floor before the movie starts. Late October evenings in the Valley cool off after sunset, so pack a jacket or an extra layer for everyone.

Costumes fit the theme, and with a monster meet and greet on the schedule, kids dressed as witches, mummies and vampires will be in good company.

Weather and tickets

This is an outdoor event. If the San Fernando Valley sees bad weather that day, the organizers point guests to the My Valley Pass website for the latest status and say they will send an email if the event has to be rescheduled, so check your inbox before heading out. The listed price is subject to change without notice.

Part of a Halloween double feature

The poster shows a second night, October 31, with Hocus Pocus. This post covers the October 30 Hotel Transylvania screening only, so check the ticketing page for the other date.
