Corita Day is back for a seventh year, and it is the kind of afternoon that makes the list of things to do in Los Angeles this fall. On Saturday, November 7, Corita Art Center invites people of all ages to the Arts District to make things, hear music and eat well, all in the spirit of artist and educator Corita Kent.
When: Saturday, November 7, 2026, 12 to 4 PM Where: SCI-Arc, 960 E Third Street, Los Angeles Organizer: Corita Art Center
What to expect
The day is built around participation. Interactive art-making stations are set up for all ages, and the materials are meant to be made and taken home. A DJ from KCRW provides the soundtrack, and there is live musical entertainment plus a set from Bob Baker Marionette.
Partner organizations contribute Corita-inspired box tower murals, which become a kind of outdoor gallery you can walk through. The partners named on the event page include Alexandria House, Altadena Girls, Angels Gate Cultural Center, Casa Esperanza, CHIRLA, Dolores Mission School, Greetings from South LA, Heart of LA, St. Lawrence of Brindisi School and Summaeverythang.
Food and beverage vendors from around the city will be on site, and new Corita merchandise will be on sale, which the organizers note arrives just in time for holiday shopping.
Who Corita Kent was
Corita Kent was a Los Angeles artist, teacher and community voice whose bright, playful, message-driven prints made her work instantly recognizable. Corita Art Center keeps that legacy active through year-round public programs, and Corita Day is its biggest community gathering of the year. If you have never seen her work, a poster this colorful is a fair preview of the spirit.
Practical info
The event page describes admission as made free by corporate, civic and community partners, though it also mentions paid tickets that help fund free access for others, artist honoraria and materials. Pricing details can shift, so confirm what applies to you on the official Corita page before you go. If you are able, donations to Corita Art Center help keep creative experiences accessible.
Limited parking is available. Rideshare and public transportation are encouraged, and that is the easier choice in this part of town on a busy Saturday. Plan to arrive early if you want time at every art station.
