San Pedro's Little Italy closes off a stretch of 6th Street on Saturday, October 10, for Festa Italiana, a free street festival that opens Italian-American Heritage Month. It is the kind of neighborhood party that belongs on any list of things to do in Los Angeles this fall, and it costs nothing to walk in.
When: Saturday, October 10, 2026, listed on the organizer's page as 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM Where: 6th Street, Little Italy District, Downtown San Pedro (222 W 6th Street, between S Palos Verdes St and S Centre St) Cost: Free entry; food and merchandise are for purchase Hosts: Little Italy of Los Angeles Association with Council District 15
What to expect
The Little Italy of Los Angeles Association runs the festival together with Council District 15. More than 20 food vendors line the street, including Carasau, Al Dente Pasta Shop, Puglia Italian Restaurant, Ciao Bella Pizza, Gelato and Angels, and La Befana Bakery. Come hungry and plan to graze: pasta, pizza, pastries and gelato are all in the mix.
Live entertainment begins at 3:00 PM. Opera Italia LA opens with the national anthems and operatic arias, and DJs Francesco Signorile and Angelo Di Leva play throughout the day, joined by performers Arianna Bergamaschi, Dan Russo and Daniella Morrow. Artisan and merchandise vendors, including Rita's of California and Olivia Grace's Jewelry, fill out the street, and Italian Heritage Dodgers hats are available for a $30 donation.
Bring the family
The festival is open to all ages, with kids' activities on site. There is a beer garden for adults, and dogs are welcome on a leash. If you are scanning for LA events this weekend that work for a mixed group, a free festival with food, music and room to wander is a good bet.
Getting there
Street parking nearby is first come, first served at $0.50 per half hour before 6 PM. The Topaz Building Garage on Centre Street, between 5th and 6th, charges a $10 flat rate. No registration is needed, so walk-ins are welcome.
Schedules can shift, so check the organizer's event page before you head out. The listing's machine-readable times differ from the posted hours, so treat the 11:00 AM start as the organizer's word.
