NICAMER L.A by L.A FRITANGA is on Dec 12, 2026.
Nicaraguan Angelenos get their own Christmas-season gathering on Saturday, December 12, when L.A Fritanga throws NICAMER L.A at 411 S Hewitt St, near the Arts District edge of downtown. The tagline on the flyer says it all: "La Navidad nos une," or Christmas brings us together. The organizer describes it as an in-person night of good food, music and pure Angeleno vibe, and it reads closer to the community end of LA food festivals than a ticketed tasting.
When: Saturday, December 12, 2026 Where: 411 S Hewitt St, Los Angeles, CA 90013 Cover: $20 at the door per the flyer, kids under 10 free
What's on the flyer
The poster lists five draws. There is Nicaraguan food (comida nicaragüense), live music, a mechanical bull, inflatables for children and a row of Nicaraguan entrepreneurs selling their goods. The artwork pairs a Nicaraguan volcano and colonial church with the downtown Los Angeles skyline, which is a fair summary of the crowd it is aimed at: people with roots in Nicaragua who now call LA home, and anyone curious enough to come eat.
A fritanga is the Nicaraguan street-food grill, typically piled with grilled meats, fried plantains, gallo pinto and cabbage salad, so the food is the reason to show up. The flyer does not name a menu, a band or a DJ, so treat the lineup as open until the organizer posts more.
Know before you go
The flyer gives the hours as 12:30 PM to 1:30 AM. The Eventbrite page, though, lists the times as 12:30 AM to 1:30 AM, which looks like a missing PM. Because the two disagree, this listing shows the date only. Confirm the start with L.A Fritanga before you plan your day.
Pricing also differs between sources. The Eventbrite listing shows a $0 registration, while the flyer says the cover is $20 and that tickets are sold at the box office the day of the event. Kids under 10 get in free. The sources do not mention set times, an age limit or parking, so check with the organizer before you drive downtown.
Plan your night
Dec. 12 falls on a Saturday, so it slots neatly into a weekend of upcoming events in Los Angeles. Families can come early for the inflatables and food, and adults can stay for the music and the bull. The Eventbrite page is the place to register, and it links the organizer's profile for updates.
