Most farmers markets in the South Bay happen in the morning, which is fine if you don't have a job. The North Redondo Beach Farmers Market runs on Wednesday afternoons instead, from 2pm to 7pm, so you can actually swing by after work. This week's market lands on Wednesday, September 30, and it's one of the easier midweek things to do in Los Angeles if you live anywhere near the Artesia corridor.

Where it is

The market sets up on Green Lane at Artesia Blvd, right next to the North Branch Library. Green Lane is closed to cars during market hours, so the whole block turns into a walkable strip of tents. There's neighborhood street parking nearby, plus two ADA spots. If you're coming from Hermosa or Manhattan Beach, it's a short drive inland up Aviation.

Who runs it

This one isn't a big regional operator's market. Local residents started it through OurNRB, a North Redondo community group, and they pitch it as a neighborhood "Main Street." That's a real goal here. Artesia Blvd has spent years as a stretch people drive through rather than stop on, and the organizers put market proceeds back into the area through beautification projects, events and other community work. Buying a bag of peaches literally helps pay for the next round of planters.

What you'll find

South Bay outlet Local Anchor, which keeps a running list of the area's markets, describes a certified lineup of vendors. In practice that means the produce comes from growers selling what they grew. Late September is a good week for it: apples and pears are showing up, the last of the stone fruit is still around, and tomatoes are usually worth grabbing.

Photos from past markets show the farm stands sharing the street with prepared-food booths, bottled sauces and small makers, and a good crowd filling the lane. It won't match the big LA food festivals for scale. That's sort of the point. It feels like running into half your block while picking up dinner.

Practical info

  • When: Wednesday, September 30, 2026, 2pm to 7pm (the market runs every Wednesday)
  • Where: Green Lane at Artesia Blvd, next to the North Branch Library, North Redondo Beach
  • Cost: The listing doesn't give an entry price. Plan on paying for whatever you buy, and bring some cash for smaller vendors.

Local Anchor notes that weather and schedule changes can cancel or shift a market, so check before you go. Bring your own bags, and a cooler if you'll be running other errands.
