Topgolf Montebello

Topgolf Montebello opened in May 2024 as part of a rebuild of the city's old golf course, and it's a three-level driving range with ball-tracking games, a restaurant and a bar. You rent a bay by the hour, and up to six people can share it. The thing to check first is the age rule, covered below.

What's Worth Seeing

There are 102 hitting bays, kept heated in winter and cooled in summer, with lounge furniture or high-top tables. Toptracer follows every ball you hit and shows its flight and distance on the screen. You can play virtual courses, or try Block Party, where the whole outfield counts for points.

Beyond the bays, there's a rooftop terrace with fire pits, a restaurant and bar, a 28-foot video wall and a Topgolf Arcade. Lessons are available if you want to actually improve.

Bring the right adult. Anyone under 16 has to be supervised by a guest 21 or older at all times, and after 9 pm that rule covers everyone under 18. New players also pay a one-time account fee. The venue page has current hours and bay prices.

How to Get There

The address is 100 Topgolf Drive, just off the 60 Freeway at Garfield Avenue, about 10 minutes east of downtown LA by Topgolf's count. Its page links driving directions but says nothing about parking, so ask when you book if that matters to you.

• Bella Verde Golf Club, next door, is the rebuilt Montebello Golf Course. It has a regulation 9 and a par-3 course that plays six holes by day and nine lit holes at night.
• Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte has lakes for boating and fishing, bike trails and a nature center. Check the park's page for its closed days.
