Jeopardy! still tapes in front of a live studio audience, and you can be in that room for free. On Camera Audiences, the show's audience service, has a taping listed for Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Sony Pictures Studios. Ken Jennings hosts. If you keep a list of Things Happening In Los Angeles that cost nothing but an afternoon, this is an easy one to add.
What you'll see
Jeopardy! usually tapes five episodes in a day, split between two audiences. Depending on which group you land in, you'll watch two or three episodes get made start to finish. That means the categories going up on the board, the Daily Doubles, Final Jeopardy, and the short resets between games when the crew swaps out contestants.
It's a quiz show, so the energy is different from a sitcom taping. You're watching people think under a clock. The room goes quiet on a big wager and loud when someone runs a category.
How to get tickets
Request tickets on the Jeopardy! page at On Camera Audiences. If a date shows Get Tickets, seats are available and you can claim them. If it shows Submit Info, the taping is full or tickets haven't been released yet, and you can leave your details to get notified. Show dates go up no more than 60 days in advance, so check back if the date you want isn't open.
A few rules from the listing:
- Everyone in your party needs their own ticket.
- Pick one arrival per day. If you want to stay for another group, ask the audience coordinator on site.
- Print the ticket or keep it on your phone. That's what you show at the studio entrance.
OCA's FAQ says all of its TV show tickets are free. Like every audience service, though, it gives out more tickets than there are seats so the room fills even when people cancel. A ticket gets you priority in line, not a guaranteed seat. Show up early.
Age limits and ID
The minimum age is 8, and anyone under 18 has to come with a parent or legal guardian. Everyone needs ID at the door. Adults should bring a driver's license or passport. Kids can use a school ID or a birth certificate. No ID, no entry.
Getting there
Sony Pictures Studios is the old MGM lot on Overland Avenue in Culver City, on the west side. Parking details and check-in instructions come printed on your ticket, so read it before you leave. Budget four to five hours for the whole visit, from arrival through the last taping of your block. Eat first, and don't plan anything tight for right after.
Worth the afternoon
Most things to do in Los Angeles that put you inside a working TV studio charge for a tour. This one gets you into the actual Jeopardy! stage while the show is being made, and all it costs you is the drive to Culver City and a few hours of sitting still.
