Jimmy Kimmel Live! Free Studio Audience Tickets in LA

Jimmy Kimmel Live! tapes in front of a real studio audience, and a seat costs nothing. Kimmel's ABC late-night show is in its 23rd season and records at the El Capitan Entertainment Centre on Hollywood Boulevard. Free audience tickets go out through 1iota, the fan-ticketing service the show uses.

Taping dates

1iota lists 13 upcoming tapings for this run. Every one starts at 4:15 PM:

• Thursday, September 24
• Monday, October 5 through Thursday, October 8
• Monday, October 12 through Thursday, October 15
• Monday, October 26 through Thursday, October 29

Dates get added and pulled as the production schedule shifts, and a date that fills up disappears from the request page. Check the 1iota page for what's open right now.

How to get tickets

Make a free 1iota account, open the Jimmy Kimmel Live! page and request the date you want. 1iota confirms by email. Every audience member has to be 18 or older.

A confirmation isn't a guaranteed seat. Free audience services book more people than the studio holds, because some always cancel or don't show. Your ticket gets you a place in line. People who arrive early get seated, and people at the back of the line may be turned away when the room is full. Get there well before the call time on your ticket.

What to expect

Plan on a long afternoon. The 4:15 PM time on each listing is when the taping starts, and check-in comes well before that. Bring a government-issued photo ID that matches the name on your request. Your 1iota confirmation email has the exact arrival time and the show's own rules on phones, bags and clothing. Follow that email over anything written here, because the rules change between seasons.

The trip is worth it for the room itself. The El Capitan Entertainment Centre sits right on Hollywood Boulevard, and watching a network late-night show get made from a few rows back is nothing like watching it at home.
