NBC's singing competition The Voice is back for its 30th season, and 1iota is giving out free seats to watch it get made. The tapings happen in Universal City on five Monday afternoons this fall. If you are looking for things to do in Los Angeles that cost nothing and put you inside a real television production, this is one of the better picks of the season.
The show
The Voice is the four-time Emmy-winning musical competition in which coaches pick singers by sound alone. Season 30 brings back fan favorites Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine, joined this season by Riley Green and Queen Latifah. The series was created by John de Mol and is a presentation of MGM Television, Warner Horizon Unscripted & Alternative Television and ITV Studios.
Taping dates
1iota lists these tapings, all starting at 2:00 PM:
- Monday, November 9
- Monday, November 16
- Monday, November 23
- Monday, November 30
- Monday, December 7
Each date is its own request, so you can aim for the Monday that fits your schedule. A 2 PM weekday start is friendlier than an evening call for most people, but plan around Valley traffic and arrive early, since audience lines for network shows form well ahead of taping.
When: Mondays, Nov 9 to Dec 7, 2026, 2:00 PM Where: Universal City, CA Price: Free Age: 18 and up
How tickets work
Tickets are free and requested through 1iota, an audience service that works with productions around town. A request is not a guaranteed seat. Services like this routinely overbook so the studio stays full, which means a ticket gets you priority in line, not a promise of admission. Showing up early is the single best thing you can do.
The studio address is sent with your confirmation, so check there for exact parking and entry instructions rather than relying on this page.
What to expect
A live taping is slower than the broadcast makes it look. Expect long stretches of setup, a warm-up comic or crew member keeping the crowd loud, and scenes that get stopped and redone. You will be asked to cheer, clap and react on cue, and your phone will probably have to stay put away. Wear something comfortable, bring a layer for the cold studio air, and eat beforehand.
If you are mapping out things happening in Los Angeles this winter, pair the taping with a stop at CityWalk or a drive over the hill afterward. Browse more free audience shows on our live audience page.
Request your tickets on the 1iota page for The Voice Season 30 before the dates fill up.
