Abbot Kinney Boulevard has been home to plenty of pop-ups, but this one leans into the craft side. On September 27, BIRKENSTOCK Venice Beach is hosting a personalization event with two collaborators worth knowing: Ariel Gordon Jewelry and HonestlyWTF.
The idea is simple. You bring (or shop for) your Birkenstocks, and you leave with something that looks like yours. Ariel Gordon Jewelry brings a distinct LA aesthetic to the table. The brand is known for delicate, modern pieces with real character. HonestlyWTF started as a DIY jewelry blog and grew into a full creative lifestyle brand; they know their way around customization.
Together they're turning the BIRKENSTOCK store at 1208 Abbot Kinney into a workspace for the afternoon. It's the kind of outdoor events Los Angeles does well: a brand with a physical footprint opens its doors, brings in local collaborators, and invites people to make something instead of just buy something.
Abbot Kinney is a short walk from the beach and well-served by street parking and the Culver City Bus Line 1. If you're coming from the east side, the 733 Metro Rapid stops nearby. The neighborhood has a handful of good coffee spots to hit before or after.
No ticket link has been announced as of this writing, so check the event page for updates on registration. Events like this tend to fill up without much warning, especially when the collaborators have their own followings.
If you're already planning outdoor activities in Los Angeles this fall, this is worth building a Westside afternoon around. Venice on a late September Sunday feels different from the summer crush, and Abbot Kinney is genuinely one of the better streets to walk in the city.
