The Dodgers and Giants meet at Chavez Ravine on Friday, September 18, for a 7:15 PM first pitch. This is the rivalry that defines the National League West, and late-season games between these two clubs carry a different weight than most.
The Rivalry
No two teams in baseball have a longer shared history than the Dodgers and Giants. The feud goes back to New York, to the Polo Grounds and Ebbets Field, before both clubs moved west in 1958. Since then, they've been division rivals for nearly seven decades. The hatred is mutual and cheerful, and it's never stronger than when September standings matter.
In 2026, with both clubs chasing playoff positioning, a three-game home series takes on genuine significance. Check the standings before you go. You'll have something to argue about by the third inning.
About the Venue
UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium sits on a hilltop in Elysian Park, above downtown. It opened in 1962 and is the third-oldest major league ballpark still in use. The naming rights are new; the bones of the place are not. The terraced parking lots, the San Gabriel Mountains visible beyond the outfield pavilions on a clear night, the organ that still plays between pitches: these haven't changed much. Capacity is just over 56,000, making it the largest ballpark in the majors by seat count.
September evenings at Dodger Stadium cool off fast after sunset. Bring a layer if you're in the upper deck or the outfield pavilions.
Tickets
Tickets start at $69. You can find listings through the event page linked above.
Getting There
The address is 1000 Vin Scully Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012. The stadium sits off the 110 freeway, accessible from the Stadium Way exit. Parking is on-site and is the most common way fans arrive, but it costs extra and fills up.
The Dodger Stadium Express shuttle runs from Union Station before games and returns after the final out. The shuttle is free with a same-day game ticket. It's the easiest option if you're coming from downtown, the Metro Red/Purple Line, or the Metrolink. Rideshare drop-off is on Vin Scully Ave.
Plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early if you want to catch batting practice from the field-level seats, or just to find your section before the anthem.
