1720

1720 is a live music and events space on East 16th Street, and its website reads like it was written by people who've loaded gear in before. The venue page posts floor plans, a parking map, a tech spec sheet and a DMX patch list, which suggests a room that works with touring crews and promoters as much as with ticket buyers.

Start any first visit with the listing, because the age rule is set per show. The venue says every show is all ages unless it's marked otherwise, and the calendar does mark them: some nights read 18 and up, some 21 and up. Start times vary too, and listings run from a 6 pm start to a 9 pm one.

Driving is straightforward on paper. There's no valet, but street parking is available near the venue, and the parking map is worth opening before you leave so you aren't circling the block when the doors open.

The venue doesn't publish a capacity or a bag policy, so check the event page for anything specific before you bring something large.
