Bar Franca

Bar Franca is a cocktail bar at 438 S Main St, on the 400 block of Main between 4th and 5th in Downtown Los Angeles. The bar describes itself as a "Euro-cocktail sound bar," and both halves of that line hold up. The drinks list leads with house cocktails like the Amante, built on mezcal and fresh-pressed watermelon, then runs through a zero-proof section and a handful of draft beers, with a short wine list behind them that includes a chilled red. The sound is the other half. The room is tuned with a custom Danley system, and the bar says it plays vinyl and digital alike, leaning toward jazz-tinged house, disco and balearic.

It's a bar first, so a DJ night here means a close, golden-lit room rather than a big stage. The bar's own calendar shows plenty of no-cover and RSVP nights next to ticketed ones, and the label and touring bookings that land here tend to be listed through Resident Advisor. The house line on style is "no gimmicks, no themes, no costumes."

Posted hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 7 PM to midnight, and Friday and Saturday from 9 PM to 2 AM. Event nights can run on their own clock, so go by the listing for start and end times.
