Don Quixote

Don Quixote sits on East Olympic Boulevard in Boyle Heights, a stretch of the Eastside where the crowd is more local than the Hollywood clubs. The building was remodeled in 2019, and the club puts its capacity at 750, which is big enough for a touring act and small enough that the back of the floor still feels close to the booth. The room books electronic shows and bass nights alongside hip-hop and regional Mexican acts, and the same space takes private rentals and community events.

The venue's policy page is unusually complete, so read it before you go. Most shows are 21+, though some promoted programs are all ages or 18+, and each event page says which. No backpacks are allowed and every bag gets screened. There is no specific dress code beyond the prohibited items list, so dress for a club rather than a night out on the town. Smoking and vaping are banned inside the building and on the grounds, and cannabis is banned the same way, medical card or not. An ATM sits just inside the front doors.

Doors usually open an hour before show time, and set times are not posted until the afternoon of the show, which makes the calendar the only reliable source. IDs have to be original government documents, and copies are refused. The club does not publish a parking or transit plan, so plan on arriving by car or rideshare and read the signs on the surrounding streets.
