The Echoplex is the sister room to The Echo in Echo Park, and the two are booked together. They don't share a door, though. The Echo's entrance is at 1822 Sunset Blvd. The Echoplex entrance is through the alley at 1154 Glendale Blvd, so check your ticket before you head over. Picking the wrong one late at night means a walk around the block.

According to the venue's history page, the two rooms have booked touring bands and dance nights alongside local acts since 2001, and Skrillex and Steve Aoki are among the acts that have played them. Most shows here are general admission, with standing room and some first-come seating.

Ages are set per event on the calendar. When a listing shows no limit, the show is all ages, and anyone three or older needs a ticket. To drink you need a state ID, a government or military ID, or a passport. The venue is strict about it: without proof you're 21 or older, you're treated as a minor. If you're bringing a kid, pack ear protection, because the venue asks parents to provide it.

The house rules clash with some rave habits. The prohibited list names lights of any kind, LED gloves included, along with pacifiers and dust masks. Backpacks and large purses stay out, any bag has to be smaller than 12 by 12 inches, and there's no coat check to hold what doesn't make it in. In-and-outs aren't allowed, so decide before you step outside. Smoking is limited to the designated outdoor areas.

Parking is the usual Echo Park puzzle. There's street parking around the block and a paid lot on Lemoyne, but the venue's own advice is to take a ride share or public transit.
