Globe Theatre Los Angeles

Theatre · Downtown LA

740 S Broadway
Los Angeles, CA 90014

The Globe Theatre is a restored 1913 movie palace at 740 South Broadway in the historic Broadway theatre district of downtown Los Angeles. Its baroque interior survived decades as a screening room and a mall conversion, and the room now runs as an event space and club: concerts, club nights, fashion shows and film shoots, with modern sound and lighting layered over the original architecture.

The main floor points at a modest stage under a decorated ceiling, and the size is the point. The Globe holds a few hundred people closer than most theatres on the street, so even a sold-out night feels like a room rather than a hall. Electronic and Latin club bookings dominate the calendar, with the occasional live band or cultural event filling the gaps.

It sits mid-block on Broadway between 7th and 8th streets, and the entrance is right on the sidewalk under the restored marquee, easy to find, even when the street is busy. Most events are 21-plus, so bring a physical ID. Paid lots are scattered along Broadway and the surrounding alleys, and the 7th Street/Metro Center station is a short walk west, which is usually faster than hunting for street parking on a Saturday night.
