The Greek Theatre

The Greek Theatre sits in Griffith Park, and the setting does half the work. Red seats fan out toward the stage, scrub-covered hills rise behind it, and an evening show gets a real sunset before the lights take over.

Getting there takes a plan. The neighborhood streets around the theatre are off limits for parking, and the venue says cars left there get towed. Rideshare drivers use the drop-off and pick-up spot in Lot C. The simplest route is the LADOT DASH Observatory/Los Feliz bus, which runs right to the venue for 50 cents, with buses out of the park leaving 10 minutes after the show ends. There's also a shuttle from the Pony Ride Train Lot, at Crystal Springs Drive and Los Feliz Boulevard, and each rider needs a shuttle ticket.

Pack light. Bags can't be bigger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches, and anything over that goes to the Guest Services booth. Age rules change from show to show, but at an all-ages concert every guest needs a ticket, babies included. Guests 13 and older can come in without an adult. Check the listing for your date before you buy, since the details sit with each show.
