Homage Brewing

Homage Brewing's Chinatown taproom is at 1219 N Main St, at the north end of the neighborhood and a short walk from Los Angeles State Historic Park. The brewery also runs Bar Homage, a tasting room and bottle shop at 281 S Thomas St in Pomona, and the two keep different hours, so make sure a listing says Chinatown before you drive.

The beer list leans on saisons, lagers and hoppy biers, and the taproom pours natural wine too. There's a kitchen, and the house asks that no outside food come in, so plan on eating from its menu. The tasting room is open from noon to 10 PM on Sunday, 3 PM to 10 PM Monday through Thursday, and noon to 2 AM on Friday and Saturday. The kitchen closes earlier: 9 PM Sunday through Thursday and 10 PM on Friday and Saturday.

The DJ nights listed on this page are house, disco and club bills that start around 9 or 10 PM and run until 1 or 2 AM, often with a free or $10 door. That's a late clock for a brewery, and it fits a place that publishes its own Mix Series: guest mixes and interviews with the DJs behind them, run by Juan Izguerra, who also plays the room.
