Johnny's Bar Cocktails & Hi-Fi

Johnny's Bar Cocktails & Hi-Fi is at 5006 York Blvd in Highland Park. The bar's own site keeps the description to one line, an intimate cocktail bar in Highland Park, and backs it with two menus, one for cocktails and a separate spirits list. The "Hi-Fi" in the name is the other half of the pitch, and DJs are part of the program. Resident Advisor lists DJ nights here, including a Friday built on new wave and dark disco that starts at 9 PM and runs until close.

Hours are posted on the site: 4 PM to 1 AM Sunday through Thursday, and 4 PM to 2 AM on Friday and Saturday. That gives a weekend DJ night room to run late, while a Sunday set is done by 1. Bookings and event inquiries go through the email address on the site, and the bar's Instagram is @johnnysbarla.

You may see the bar under more than one name. Resident Advisor's directory lists it as "Johnny's Cocktails & Hi-Fi" and as plain "Johnny's Bar", both at the same York Boulevard address. Don't confuse it with Johnny's West Adams, a different bar on West Adams Blvd.

The site doesn't publish an age policy, a cover charge or parking advice, so check the event listing for the age limit and whether there's a cover before you go.
