Jungle Hollywood

Jungle Hollywood occupies a spot on Cahuenga Boulevard just north of Hollywood Boulevard, close enough to the 101 that you hear the freeway when the door opens. Inside, the name is taken literally: the room is dressed as a jungle, and the lighting stays low enough that the dance floor reads as one mass of people rather than a crowd of individuals.

The sound system is the real draw. The club runs a Turbo Sound and EAW rig with double 18-inch and 21-inch subs under the main stage, and the booth is set up with Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 mixers and CDJ-3000 decks. That is serious hardware for a room this size, and it is why house and drum and bass nights here hit harder than the address suggests.

Programming swings widely. Weeknights lean on house and techno, weekends push toward reggaeton, hip hop and afrobeats, and the venue's own FAQ adds karaoke, Latin top 40 and mash-up nights to the list. Free RSVP before 11 PM turns up often on the calendar, which makes it one of the cheaper ways to start a weekend in Hollywood. Tables require a deposit and the club asks guests to arrive before 11:30 PM.

The door is strict about two things. It is 21 and over except at specific events, and you need a physical ID, since photos and photocopies are turned away. Dress code is listed as smart casual. There is a food menu of tropical cocktails, appetizers and mains, and parking is a choice between the lots around the block, street spaces and a rideshare.
