Lodge Room

Los Angeles, CA 90042
Lodge Room is on the second floor of the old Highland Park Masonic Temple, the red brick building on the corner of Figueroa Street and Avenue 56. The lodge dates to 1922, and the address on Avenue 56 is the one to give your driver. The venue pitches itself as a mix of live music, performances and events, and the calendar backs that up, with touring bands at night and the occasional morning kids' show with doors at 10:30.
Most nights are general admission and standing room. When a show is partly seated, the chairs go to whoever gets there first. The bar pours draft beer and cocktails, and Checker Hall, the restaurant that shares the venue's gift cards, handles food if you want dinner before the show.
There's no box office window here. If a show hasn't sold out, you can buy a ticket at the door, but tickets are non-refundable and transfers only work if the new holder gives the original buyer's name. Bring a real photo ID, since the venue accepts state IDs, driver's licenses, military IDs and passports, and only current ones. The bar takes cards only. Unlike a lot of LA rooms, you can step outside and come back in.
Phone cameras and small point-and-shoots are fine. A professional camera needs an approved photo pass, and the artist can tighten the rules on any night. The venue says it is fully ADA accessible, so tell a staff member when you arrive if you need help getting up to the second floor.
Lodge Room doesn't run a lot, so plan on finding street parking on the blocks around Figueroa.
