Peacock Theater sits inside L.A. Live in downtown, a short walk across the district from Crypto.com Arena. It opened in October 2007 as the Nokia Theatre with six sold-out nights by the Eagles and The Chicks, and plenty of Angelenos still call it the Microsoft Theater, its name before this one. If you've watched the Emmys or the BET Awards, you've seen the stage.

The hall seats 7,100, and the theater says no seat sits more than 220 feet from the stage, so it plays smaller than the number suggests. The calendar runs well past award season. Expect Latin pop tours, comedy specials, K-pop, R&B and family shows like Sesame Street Live. AXS is the only authorized ticket seller, so tickets bought anywhere else are a gamble.

Get there early. Every guest walks through a metal detector and a bag check. Keep your bag smaller than 14 by 14 by 6 inches, and know that backpacks of any size get turned away. Signs can't be bigger than 11 by 17. You can bring one unopened plastic water bottle of a liter or less. Once you leave, you're out for the night.

Drivers have the district's own garages plus private lots a few blocks out, and the venue suggests Waze to reach the right gate. The A and E lines stop at Pico Station, about three blocks away. For a rideshare, use the white zones on Figueroa between 12th and Pico or on Chick Hearn Court, because LAPD enforces the No Stopping signs around the district.
