The Silverlake Lounge
Los Angeles, CA 90026
The Silverlake Lounge is a bar at 2906 Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake, and it has been serving drinks since 1938. The building went up ten years earlier, in 1928. By the 1950s it was the Silver Lake Cocktail & Cafe, and by 1960 it had its current name.
The venue's own history page says the room was a neighborhood gay bar for decades, with Latino drag shows on weekends. In 1997 a booking crew called The Fold began putting on bands during the week, and the room became a place to catch acts early. The same page lists a long run of bands that played here before they got big, along with names from the DJ booth. It also says the lounge reopened in late 2024.
Hours on the site are 6 PM to 1 AM on Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 6 PM to 2 AM on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It is closed Mondays. Its history page mentions the DJ booth as well as the stage, so some nights may be DJ sets rather than bands. Read each event's ticket page for its own start time and entry price.
The site does not publish a capacity, an age policy, doors times, a bag policy or parking details. For a late night out, check the ticket page for the age rule and sort out parking or a ride before you head to Sunset Boulevard.
