The Soraya
Also known as Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts
Northridge, CA 91330-8448
The Soraya sits on the campus of California State University, Northridge at the corner of Nordhoff Street and Lindley Avenue. It opened as the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts and books a mix of touring concerts, classical music, jazz, dance companies and community events throughout the year. The Great Hall holds roughly 1,600 seated guests, and the stage can accommodate full orchestral setups with seating raked across multiple tiers. Parking is available in Lot B1 near the building at the corner of Nordhoff and Darby Avenue. Patrons who buy tickets receive complimentary parking.
The venue does not publish a standing capacity because nearly all programming is seated, though the floor area behind the front rows can flex depending on staging requirements. Hours vary widely by show, and there is no standard club-night schedule. Doors usually open 30 to 45 minutes before curtain time for performances.
Age policy depends on the event. Classical and ballet shows are typically all ages. Some concert bookings run 18+ or 21+. The individual event listing states the age limit so check before you plan. Alcohol service runs through the house bar during evening performances, and dress code is casual unless otherwise noted. Street parking along Nordhoff is limited after hours, so Lot B1 is the best option if you are driving.
