Tea at Shiloh Annex

Tea at Shiloh is a reservation-only teahouse in the Arts District, and the Annex is its back room. The main space runs late night tea sessions from 7 to 11 PM and daylight coworking hours, with unlimited tea, craft supplies and a strict no-shoes, no-flash-photos house culture. The room behind it, the Annex, is where the owners stage private gatherings: long-table dinners, sound baths, workshops and, more recently, the occasional hifi listening party or secret show. A hi-fi fundraiser with DJs on the DICE calendar is the kind of night that lands there.

The address takes a little faith. The calendar's visitor policy says the address is emailed with your reservation confirmation and checked at the door, and asks visitors to ignore third-party listings. The brand's own store site, though, prints the Los Angeles location as 2035 Bay St, Los Angeles, CA 90021, and ticket pages and city listings put the building there, Unit 102, in the warehouse blocks east of downtown. Treat 2035 Bay St as the place and your confirmation email as the final word.

Everything is by reservation, capped at four people per group, and doors lock once a scheduled event starts. All ages are welcome at tea sessions, though evening shows may set their own limit. Parking sits on the surrounding warehouse streets, and the venue warns against leaving valuables in your car. No pets, no outside food, no laptops at late night tea.
