WET Deck at W Hollywood

The WET Deck is the rooftop pool of the W Hollywood, the hotel at 6250 Hollywood Blvd at Hollywood and Vine. The Pantages Theatre is across the street, the Capitol Records tower is a block north, and the Hollywood/Vine Metro entrance opens right outside the hotel. From the deck you look out at the Hollywood Hills.

By day it's a heated hotel pool with daybeds, cabanas and the Sunset Bar alongside, open daily from noon with food and drinks ordered from your phone. The hotel keeps it for its own guests: anyone else needs a cabana or daybed reservation to get up there. Each room gets a set number of wristbands, two for a king room and four for a queen room or suite, and a wristband still doesn't guarantee a spot once the deck is full, so the hotel's advice is to come early.

At night it turns into a party deck. Promoters book it for Halloween and holiday nights with DJs, and the hotel's own listings for those parties say 21 and over to attend, with entry subject to capacity. Hotel guests get in with their room key; everyone else needs a ticket. Under 21s on the deck at any other time must be with an adult hotel guest, there's no lifeguard, and weekends after 1 PM are pitched at adults.

The dress code changes with the light. Daytime is beachwear, with jeans, basketball shorts, boots and offensive printed shirts turned away. After dark it's dress to impress, and men need closed-toe shoes and a collared shirt at the bars. The hotel doesn't post a bag policy for the deck, so go by the event listing.

Parking is valet only, $85 a day including tax, with electric car charging. The Hollywood/Vine station on Metro's B Line is the easier option, and LADOT buses stop nearby.
