The Wiltern sits on the corner of Wilshire and Western in Koreatown, at 3790 Wilshire Blvd, and you can spot it from a block away. The tower is wrapped in blue-green tile, and the name runs down the side in a tall neon sign that glows after dark. The venue's own site points out that the building is historic. Because of that, the loge and mezzanine can only be reached by stairs, and the accessible section on the floor sits to the left of the stage. Keep that in mind if you plan to meet friends upstairs.

It's a theatre, not a club, and when electronic acts book it the evening keeps the same concert clock as a band show. Doors generally open an hour before the listed start, and showtime is normally an hour after doors, so you won't be waiting around for a set that begins at 1 AM. The site calls it a standing-room venue, and the whole floor points at the stage, so wear shoes you can stay in all night.

The hour between doors and showtime is a good window to find the bar or check a bigger bag. Every bag is searched, and anything larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches goes to coat check for a fee. Everyone needs a ticket no matter their age. Age limits are set show by show, and you'll need a valid ID for restricted dates and to buy alcohol. The whole place is cashless, so bring a card. Once your ticket is scanned there's no re-entry, so finish that phone call outside first.

The Wiltern doesn't own or operate any parking, and the closest lot is the Ralphs structure next door. The Metro station at Wilshire and Western is right across the street, with trains running until midnight Sunday to Thursday and until 2 AM on weekends.
