Zebulon

Zebulon sits at 2478 Fletcher Drive in Frogtown, the riverside pocket of northeast LA. Its own site calls it a cafe concert, and that's a fair description: there's a cafe with a bar, an outdoor patio, and a separate show room with its own stage. The venue's rental brochure puts the cafe at about 1,000 square feet and the stage area at about 3,000.

The booking is all over the map in a good way. Zebulon's brochure lists musicians, films, dancers and comedians, and the booth has turntables and CDJs for the nights when a DJ takes over. The sound system is a serious L-Acoustics rig for a room this size, so even quiet sets come through clean. Most nights are standing room, and when a show is seated it's first come, first served.

The bar and cafe open at 6 PM every day and stay open until 2 AM, and the kitchen serves food most evenings, so it works as a dinner stop before a set. Plan for one quirk with money. Tickets at the door are cash only, though the bar takes cards and there's an ATM inside. Advance tickets go through DICE or Zebulon's own site, and the venue warns that tickets resold on StubHub won't be honored.

There's no lot, so you'll be circling for a spot on Fletcher, Ripple or Riverside. Inside, the show room, cafe, patio and restrooms are all reachable without steps, and a manager can help with accessible seating if you get there before doors.
