Zula Den
Los Angeles, CA 90016
Zula Den is a wellness and community gathering space at 4011 W Jefferson Boulevard in the West Adams neighborhood. Founded by Eldad Alfi and Chris Santillan, the space operates as a subsidiary of the Zula Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The main room, called the Den, measures roughly 750 square feet at 43 feet by 17.5 feet. It holds about 50 people on rugs and pillows for floor seating, with a small stage area extending about ten feet into the front of the room. A conference room next door can serve as overflow or workshop space, and the building includes a full kitchen downstairs plus a kitchenette upstairs.
Events at Zula Den include sound baths, breathwork sessions, guided meditations, live music jam nights, stand-up comedy, Reiki healing circles and ecstatic dance. A recurring electronic series, The Residency, brings DJs and live sets into the same carpeted room once a month. The venue hosts rotating facilitators who bring their own programming. They do not employ a resident sound engineer, so booking parties arrange their own audio support. Shoes come off at the door, since the Den is fully carpeted and they clean hard. Smoking is banned indoors and vaping is allowed. Tea and drinks are fine in the Den itself, but solid food goes only in the conference room.
There is no elevator, so guests climb two flights of stairs to reach the second-floor space. Parking is street-only, with restriction signs worth reading. The venue offers a 50% low-income rebate for anyone with a valid EBT Golden State Advantage Card, and booking takes a 25% deposit for flat-rate rentals or $40 for revenue-share dates.
